If you’re interested in the growth of co-creation and participatory design economy, based on natural morphologies, realised with genetic algorithms, then look here. Lovely stuff
I like the look of these. Quicktacks are colourful acrylic wall magnets designed to hold your stuff creatively where ever you like, they can be used on walls or just on your fridge, in fact you can use them just about anywhere. Quicktacks are all about getting colourful and creative when it comes to storing things
Jessica Walsh recently started an initiative where she asked twelve prominent designers to design a tote bag for a charity of their choice. The totes are now sold at mydesignshop.com and 100% of the profits of the bags go to the charity the designer chooses.
Kassen Lifestyle has created a new and innovative lighting solution for the modern aesthetic. The Stalb Lamp is designed lighting that trends forward by combining current biomorphic design elements with the Brutalist principle of steadfast truth to materials. The Stalb Lamp is a simple steel structure, curved to effect a soft shape while still maintaining its original color and hard edges. It stands on a cast-concrete base, also of its original color; the shade, a cube of hollowed-out, recycled plywood, is enhanced only with a satin lacquer for a slight sheen.
Natalie Duckett, a graduating student from the University of Dundee has produced this alarm clock made from an elm log with brass components. “The signal is not an electronic buzz but a mechanical imitation of a woodpecker drumming against a tree. My users have to find a material; surface or object for the woodpecker’s beak to drum against to listen to it.”
This looks pretty cool. “The Cloak Bag, was designed to solve a problem many travellers face when carrying their expensive cameras in less reputable areas; how to keep your camera out of sight yet still ready at a second’s notice when you are out exploring. It is the first bag of its kind, allowing full access to the camera without the need to take it out of the bag.”
Kontextür; irreverent, sexy and fashion-forward products that challenge your design IQ. Mmm, very nice.
Judith from Delicious Industries recently got in touch with us over a side project they’ve been working on. “Howdoos are letter-pressed business cards with a greeting on the front and space on the back ready for your personal details. There are 2 designs; ‘hello’ in hot pink and ‘nice to meet you’ in black.”
